Abstract :
It is noted that the high cost of laboratory equipment is having a severe effect on the quality of science education. This has received particular attention and considerable progress has been achieved in Zimbabwe. The main thrust has been towards the design and construction of innovative instruments which address the effect of certain inflationary factors on the cost of advanced undergraduate experiments
