Abstract :
A distributed algorithm for media access control based on maximal packing is developed, suitable for infrastructure based indoor wireless networks. The algorithm is iterative, and only involves message passing between neighboring access points. The algorithm is evaluated for pico-cellular network consisting of 10 access points. Throughput at full-buffer loading is improved by 25% over reuse 1 (no inter-AP coordination), for users and bases with two antennas.
