Abstract :
Power quality includes several issues in electrical engineering such as instrumentation, signal processing and measurement among others. This paper reviews the improvements in signal processing that have been achieved and have helped to increase knowledge of the disturbances suffered by electrical power systems. It focuses on the techniques best adapted to describing these disturbances, in order that they may form part of a measurement system, and to obtain parameters of such a system, or to establish PQ indices.
