Abstract
A set of 17 NOAA-AVHRR images of the Andalusian region was selected and appropriately pre-processed. Clouds were removed and the NDVI was computed. A composite image representing the 17 images was created. The 17 channel new NDVI image was spectrally filtered and segmented using a lately developed segmentation algorithm. The segmented image was then classified. Evaluation of the results is done with the aid of the CORINE land cover for some classes
