Abstract :
This paper classifies the metamaterials based on their fundamental properties, i.e., by the signs of their permittivity and permeability. The double positive (DPS) metamaterials have both the permittivity and permeability positive, i.e., epsi > 0, mu > 0. The epsilon-negative (ENG) metamaterials have the permittivity less than zero, i.e., epsi < 0, mu > 0. The mu-negative (MNG) metamaterials have the permeability less than zero, i.e., epsi > 0, mu < 0. The double negative metamaterials have both the permittivity and permeability less than zero, i.e., epsi < 0, mu < 0. The target frequency of interest here is: f0 = omega0/2pi = 300 MHz giving the free space wavelength lambda0 = 1.0 m. We define an electrically small antenna in free space by the constraint that kre les 0.5 where re radius of the smallest sphere that surrounds the antenna system. This paper discusses the behavior of a non-radiating nested metamaterial spherical shell model with different sizes. The analytical analysis and produced results shows a different natural mode of the nested spherical shell system than previously published
