Abstract :
In the spring of 1994 Remcom Inc. began operation. Total sales in 1994 were seven copies of XFDTDreg purchased by customers including Murata, Japan Radio, R.C. Hansen Inc., and Florida International University. Since this small beginning Remcom has grown to become a recognized world leader in commercial CEM software. This paper and conference presentation considers the academic origins of XFDTD prior to 1994 and the development of Remcom from its beginning in 1994 to the present
