  • Abstract
This paper presented a two-element array configuration of planar, dual-polarized, log.-per. four-arm trapezoid antennas for combined polarization- and space diversity reception in a frequency range from 1.0 GHz to 6.0 GHz. As a consequence from the low values of antenna power correlation between the operational modes of the array topology, the regarded antenna array provides four sufficiently decorrelated diversity branches that may yield a high degree of diversity gain. Results for antenna radiation patterns and power correlation as derived by FEM full-wave analysis could have been easily verified by antenna far-field measurement. Due to the small size requirements of the antenna array and the large frequency range of operation, antenna configurations of that kind are well suited for the integration into multi-standard communications systems for diversity operations
