Abstract :
The paper discusses the implementation of a varispeed playback system for digital disk recorders used as post production image stores and computer graphics image storage devices. The digital disk recorder is almost tailor made for varispeed play, it has huge bandwidth allowing random access to any frame of video, therefore the problem of selecting a pre-set number of frames from contiguous video streams, a constant problem for tape machines, is almost non-existent
