Abstract :
In this paper, we present a frequency wide band electronic band gap (EBG) design of a multilayer dielectric structure with defects used as a spatial angular filter to generate a virtual aperture in the reflector focal plane. This structure is placed in front of few small feeds located in the focal plane of a parabolic reflector. The efficiency of the antenna, its gain and its directivity, compared to a parabolic reflector antenna fed by conventional horn feeds, was examined
