Abstract
This paper describes a complete insulating arrangement for electric traction aerial contact line, commonly named catenary, employing only polymer concrete (PC) insulators. The electromechanical components were conceived and manufactured taking into account the existing 3000 V DC electric traction catenary keeping in mind the use of standardized components or using standard insulators normally produced such as ANSI TR-205 standard strength post insulators. The results from field experience show that polymer concrete insulators are an adequate alternative to the insulation of catenary where reliable equipment is necessary
