Abstract :
In this paper, the input impedance and the radiation pattern of a dielectric resonator antenna are estimated using the MBPE model. Accurate equivalent circuit model for the input impedance is calculated using MBPE and genetic algorithm. The MBPE model for the radiation pattern calculation is also compared with that calculated with the FDTD method. Good agreement is achieved. It is clear from the results that the MBPE is quite powerful and can be used to achieve significant model-order reduction, which is especially attractive for problems with large computational domains
