Abstract
In this paper, the theory of electromagnetic wave propagation in nonlinear Bragg gratings was extended. The paper is organized as follows. In the first part, the simple 1D model described by a system of coupled equations for forward and backward waves was discussed. In the second part, the results of numerical simulation of harmonic signal propagation in a 2-D nonlinear periodic structure by finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method was presented
