Multiple planes of RFID tag antennas are shown theoretically and experimentally to produce interference effects on readability analogous to classic reflection filters. Such effects are of potential practical importance in the case of densely packed arrays of tagged items. This paper presents measurement results for a two-plane UHF RFID tag array and discusses a simplified theoretical representation
