Abstract :
Simulation and experimental study chaotic oscillations in improved Colpitts oscillator with a microwave transistor BFG520 as the nonlinear component. In contrast to classical Colpitts oscillator, our improved circuit can enhance the chaos bandwidth up to several gigahertz. Moreover, we experimentally demonstrate that chaotic oscillation at the fundamental frequency of 580 MHz, 712 MHz, and 1.5 GHz can be respectively generated. Simulations are consistent with the experimental results.
