Abstract
A simple position transducer for position feedback commutation of a linear switched reluctance motor is described. The transducer uses two inductive sensors with a pot shape core and no permanent magnets. The transducer interacts with the unmodified mover of the motor and identifies positional regions associated with required energisation states of the motor phases, under both static and running conditions of the motor
