Abstract :
The circular uniform beam array (CUBA) DOA estimation method that achieves DOA estimation of coherent waves has been applied to the electronically steerable parasitic array radiator (ESPAR) antennas. The antenna has only one RF port and thus features low power consumption and fabrication cost. The paper investigates different calibration techniques of ESPAR antennas for the CUBA DOA estimation method. A sectorized calibration method is also proposed to increase the calibration accuracy and improve the DOA estimation performance. The minimum angular distance for two resolvable waves is reduced from 45° to 15°.
