Abstract :
This note is basically historical, but it also discusses some technical accomplishments that were considered very important and useful at the time. The historical aspects include how Leo Felsen, Nathan Marcuvitz and the author came together at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (now Polytechnic University) at about the same time in 1946, and worked together on the same large research contract. It is interesting that this work represents Leo Felsen´s first research project, and that part of this effort resulted in his Master´s thesis
