Abstract
The idea and research results of the novel proposal of Hashad et al. (1998) in terms of VSI control are presented in this paper. The power converter consists of a main inverter supplying the load and a filtering auxiliary inverter. The output voltage space vector of the complex inverter is composed of two orthogonal voltage space vectors, or is taken directly from the main inverter. Such a technique permits one to obtain 18 output vectors and has the advantages of: low harmonic content of the output voltage; low number of both inverters´ switchings; and low power of the auxiliary inverter
