Abstract
Embedded dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) excited by a probe and narrow slot are designed and tested. The embedded DRA is built by perforating a selected area of a dielectric substrate with a lattice of holes. The technique of using perforations makes the fabrication of embedded DRA feasible. Approximately 50% frequency bandwidth is achieved. Good agreement between the equivalent model and perforated structures is obtained and samples of radiation patterns are provided
