Abstract :
The basic block functions available within an electric drives library are described. It is clear that a combination of these specialist blocks, together with the general Simulink blocks, can result in a wide range of drive simulation examples. Very simple schemes can be quickly assembled for familiarisation and teaching purposes. This can be followed by the construction of more complex schemes to whatever level the user wishes. Two examples are given of induction motor vector drives with and without power converter hardware. This paper describes the use of the drives library to examine the behaviour of self-commissioning functions on a commercial drive system
