Abstract :
A robust technique of evidence accumulation for Hough transform (HT) is reported. Its incorporation with the conventional standard Hough transform (SHT) enables the method to reject ineffective accumulations due to edge and correlated noise that previously unable to cope with. Moreover, projection subspaces are used in the method which can reduce the memory requirement of SHT considerably. Experimental results for circle detection are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique. The method may also be adapted to other modified HT methods
