  • Abstract
The problems of electromagnetic scattering and diffraction in complex media, such as absorbing, anisotropic, chiral, biisotropic etc., are the subject of interest of numerous researchers. In spite of the numerous techniques suggested, these problems are still difficult to handle and require appropriate efficient methods of analysis. A uniform approach is developed for solving the wave diffraction problems on the single and periodical objects made of absorbing anisotropic, chiral and biisotropic materials. This approach is based on the method of auxiliary sources and the generalization of Bateman´s (1955) procedure for solving Helmholtz´ wave equation
