Abstract :
The paper presents a finline-fed exponentially tapered slot antenna operating in the Ka band designed using a numerical method. The waveguide-to-finline taper transitions are based on the design of a protrusion quarter-wave matching transformer. The antenna is fabricated on a 0.254 mm thick RT-duorid 5880 (εr=2.22), and the E- and H-plane 3-dB main beamwidths are 100° and 95° respectively. Test results shows that the opposite bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 3 GHz when VSWR<2 and it has good electronic capability.
