  • Abstract
A problem commonly associated with the implementation of fuzzy algorithms in decision processes is the adjustment of the boundaries of the fuzzy sets. This problem becomes even more complex when no expert knowledge is available. In this case, the use of simulation tools in order to validate the model and to analyze estimation problems, is often unavoidable. The problem studied throughout this paper belongs to this “hard to define” type. It consists in estimating the real destination point (DP) of an object directed towards different possible destination points, using fuzzy logic as a fusion mechanism. Because of the complexity of adjusting the fuzzy parameters, different simulation tools were designed. The result is a simulation environment which can be used for development as well as for demonstration purposes. Special care was taken in the implementation of the different parts of that environment to get a software as modular as possible. This was obtained by using object oriented programming techniques for the general structures as well as for the graphics functions. The use of Microsoft Windows 3.1 as a graphic interface also implied different coding approaches
