Abstract :
One approach to solving the problem of forming a zero (deep gap) in the directivity pattern in the prescribed direction is considered. It consists in solving the synthesis problem of an arbitrary geometry antenna array by simultaneously forming the zero. The Gram-Shmidt orthogonalization process concerning the partial directivity pattern of elements is used. Application of the suggested algorithm to forming the zero in the directivity pattern of a cylindrical array is presented
