Abstract :
Some fundamental problems of mathematical physics which arises in the nondestructive testing of material are formulated. The necessity of modern numerical and numerical-analytical methods application to their solution are shown. The position and role of mathematical modeling in a general non-destructive testing scheme are determined. A survey of the work undertaken at the Karpenko Physico-Mechanical Institute of Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences in the field of non-destructive testing is presented
