  • Abstract
    Using the pulse-echo ultrasonic technique, the velocities of the longitudinal and the shear bulk acoustic waves propagating in five crystallographic directions of langasite single crystal were measured in a wide temperature range from 25°C to 600°C. Piezoelectric coefficients and dielectric permittivity as a function of temperature are also obtained. Based on the new langasite material data, calculations of SAW propagation for a number of promising cuts were carried out and good coincidence with the published and measured SAW experimental results was achieved.
