Abstract :
A single-chip accelerometer with digital output is fabricated in a surface micromachining technology that uses standard silicon processing to fabricate both mechanical sensor and associated electronic circuitry on a single substrate. Compared to conventional multi-chip solutions this approach simplifies packaging and has the advantages of smaller size and potentially lower cost.
