Abstract :
The gigahertz transverse electromagnetic cell (GTEM cell) is one of the state of art standard test fixtures for conducting radiated emission and susceptibility tests on electronic equipment and systems. The GTEM cell having a flat frequency response over a wide band of frequency, can also be used for distortion free pulse test measurements. The cell allows very large field intensity as well as operation up to frequencies of a few GHz. Due to the measurements accuracy and repeatability the GTEM cells have been accepted as a standard bounded wave device by various international bodies involved in the development of EMI/EMC standards. A GTEM cell designed, developed and fabricated at LRDE is discussed and the measured electrical performance characteristics are presented
