Abstract :
A wideband dual polarized dielectric resonator antenna is designed. A two-step stair shaped DRA is excited through a cross-shaped slot by two orthogonal ports. Microstrip lines are terminated with a U-shaped tuning stub to optimize the matching. Both ports are able to give more than 20% bandwidth. To achieve high isolation, two orthogonal ports are placed in two different layers, with one port above the ground plane and the other port below the ground plane. Isolation with more than 30dB is achieved between the two ports.
