Abstract :
The traditional fault detection and isolation techniques of the avionics industry are rapidly becoming obsolete. To meet the modular avionics system requirements of increased availability and reduced life cycle costs, modules incorporating comprehensive built in self test (BIST) capabilities are required. Only comprehensive fault detection and isolation at component, module, sub-system and system level will enable the criteria of fault tolerance, reconfiguration or intelligent degradation to be achieved
