Abstract
A new technique for direct conversion of duty cycle in amplitude is presented. An enhanced H-bridge along with a unique control strategy enables multifunction of the individual switches within the bridge and direct, pulse by pulse conversion of pulse-width into amplitude. Furthermore, the usually present and required dead-time between the PWM pulses is eliminated. This revolutionary topology not only significantly improves power density and efficiency but also opens a new set of possibilities in solid state power processing.
