Abstract
We have developed the high repetitive rate pulsed power system using solid-state impulse generator (IG) and PFN. This solid state IG, which is composed of thyristor switches for closing switches, is improved on the charging periods, repetitive property and long life time. In this report, using 10 stage IG (1 stage maximum voltage 2.2 kV) and PFN circuit, we demonstrated of output to input charging voltage ratio of 13.5 and rise time of 300 ns for resistive load (500 /spl Omega/) and rise time of 68 ns for 20 /spl Omega/ load with PFN. And undesirable voltage signal pulse, which is due to a capacitor component of reversed biased diodes and leads to misoperation of gate circuits, and its counter measure will be presented.
