Abstract
In this paper, a new configuration of cylindrical electromagnetic band gap (CEBG) structure for beam-switching antenna applications has been designed and tested numerically. This new configuration uses structures of discontinuous metallic wires where the defects are created by continuous wires. The proposed solution allows to reduce the number of activated wires and thus reduces the required power supply DC current. Finite difference time domain (FDTD) results for the new configuration are presented and discussed
