Abstract :
In this paper, a new technique of efficiency enhancement using pins as via connectors in the coplanar waveguide (CPW) substrate of the antenna is introduced. Via connectors join the upper and lower conductor CB-CPW (conductor backed CPW) ground planes. This forbids the propagation of surface wave between the ground planes. To validate the proposed approach, numerical simulations and experimental measurements were carried out, and the obtained results are presented and discussed
