Abstract :
In this paper, a new design of tapered N×N MMI devices has be proposed. Based on the hyperbolic structure, the smaller device dimensions compared with conventional MMI can be achieved. Moreover, the performance of N×N hyperbolic MMIs are numerically investigated by the finite-difference beam propagation method (FD-BPM).
