Abstract
This paper shows that a complicated-form 2D or 3D antenna can be simplified and modeled by a wire structure, using the electromagnetic principals and the current distribution on the antenna. The well-known 3D bi-polarization and broad-band "Star antenna" was first of all modeled by a simple wire bow-tie structure. This equivalent wire structure has been optimized consequently by a simple 1D EM simulator. The measurements show a very good agreement with the simulations. Here, the originality is to simplify enormously a complicated structure and to present a new easy-made broad-band bi-polarization wire antenna. In the other hand, this study proves the constructive effects of the near-field coupling between two crossed similar structure on the frequency bandwidth
