Abstract :
Microwave treatment of patients with prostatic enlargement is currently under development. For the safety of the patient it is of utmost importance to determine the intraprostatic temperature as well as the temperature in the surrounding tissues. Therefore we present this analysis of the temperature distribution in the tissue and in the catheter. We find that the temperature distribution is nonuniform, and that the temperature measurement in the catheter simulated here is inaccurate
