Abstract
Elliptical apertures are used in a wide variety of applications such as earth stations for satellite communications. However, in order to take advantage of the maximum effective area, superelliptical apertures can be used. Most of the available papers on shaping dual-reflectors operate on circular apertures or elliptical surfaces. The scope of this paper is to show the results obtained using a low complexity iterative technique for the synthesis of dual-shaped reflector antennas with superelliptical apertures for satellite communications applications. After the theoretical aspects involved in the synthesis procedure, the results obtained for a practical systems are presented
