Abstract
This paper presents some recent developments in the design of dichroic mirror for space applications. The traditional plane-wave design method is described and compared to the novel approach, which permits to include the incident field pattern in the computation. The methodology is applied to flat structures and then extended to curved ones. To validate the described procedure, a flat beam-waveguide dichroic mirror and a hyperbolic dichroic sub-reflector have been analyzed and compared to measurements. In addition the flat structure was optimized exploiting the new approach, exhibiting a net performance improvement
