Abstract :
This paper describes the comparison of three problems of scattering of an elastic plane waves with vertical and horizontal polarization on a small elastic obstacle. The three problems of wave scattering inside an i) boundless elastic medium ii) plane parallel elastic layer and iii) slightly bent elastic layer are discussed. We also assume that the polarization of plane wave is parallel to the axis of the cylinder. The problem on the diffraction of a plane elastic wave on an obstacle (nonhomogeneous elastic medium) of a circular cylindrical form with same field characteristics was also discussed.
