Abstract
The installation of an electrical wiring and grounding system must done properly to prevent EMI (electromagnetic interference) and other damage to a system which is essentially installed for continuous service. In this paper the authors discuss the effects of transients on the electrical system to the pager service industry where the transient damaged the computer system used for communication. The result was a temporary shut-down of the paging system. The solution based on the grounding configuration required to prevent the recurrence of EMI and the ill effects due to transient is described
