Abstract
Gaps and uncertainties within current Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) land products limit their application in understanding land surface dynamics. This paper employs a revised iterative strategy based on multi-channel singular spectrum analysis (MSSA) to fill the gaps in MODIS land products. Our results on MODIS leaf area index (LAI) products show MSSA has the ability to use both spatial and temporal information to fill gaps within MODIS LAI products to produce spatially and temporally smoother datasets.
