Abstract :
Conventional motion compensation and time-frequency imaging holds great potential for resolving the image blurring problem of complex motional targets. The inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging model of manoeuvering targets is analyzed, together with some existing imaging methods. A scheme that incorporates the matching Fourier transform (MFT) and a modified CLEAN technique is recommended. The experimental simulation results indicate that the presented range-instantaneous Doppler imaging scheme can greatly improve the image quality of most manoeuvering aircraft, and therefore it is available for radar imaging of manoeuvering targets.
