Abstract :
This paper outlines an efficient algorithm for estimating propagation in a complex radar environment. The algorithm first estimates propagation in regions where a geometric optics solution is valid and then extends this solution into other regions by means of an integral equation approach. This second stage only needs to be performed in regions where results are actually required and so makes the approach extremely efficient.
