  • Abstract
This paper focuses on the characterization of an electromagnetic material between two PEC parallel plates. To extract the complex constitutive parameters that represent the material, experimental reflection and transmission scattering parameters are needed. This can be achieved using a slotted guided-wave structure as the upper PEC plate where the slot is used to excite the parallel plate waveguide. In this paper, a lossy dielectric between the plates is assumed, and magnetic field integral equation is formulated for the radiation and scattering into free-space by a slot in the PEC parallel plates. The results of a method-of-moments (MoM) solution is shown for various slot voltage distributions
