  • Abstract
    This paper introduces a design of network-processor-based intelligent secure IAD (integrated access device). Firstly, this paper describes IAD and hardware architecture of Intel IXP2350 network processor and the advantage of Intel IXP2350 in IAD design. Then this paper introduces the hardware and software design of IAD based on NP (network processor). This design use Intel IXP-C and auto-partitioning programming model and implements the essential functions of IAD including voice and wireless processing, DiffServ, traffic management and security, etc.
