Abstract :
Communication and radar applications required not only narrow beams but also broad beams. These beams should essentially contain a main beam and highly restricted sidelobes. Array antennas are found to be more suitable for the generation of the above beams. Most of the works as reported in the literature, result in a main beam with high sidelobe levels. The high side lobes create EMI problems particularly in radar receivers. In view of this, some studies are made with the aim to producing sufficiently broad beams while restricting the sidelobe heights around the main beam
