Abstract
Virtualization technology has provided an opportunity to the efficient usage of computing resources. However, the management of VMs on cluster is still in the preliminary stage. How to construct userpsilas task environments fastly and efficiently remains a significant challenge. This paper presents a multiple-VM deployment system (MVDS) for creating and configuring userspsila task environments on-demand. The system provides a template management model and all the VMs are created based on the templates including operating systems and applications. To improve the deployment performance, we explore some strategies about incremental mechanism and deployment tactics. We evaluate both the deployment time and I/O performance with proposed incremental mechanism. The experimental results show that the incremental mechanism outperforms the clone tactic.
