Abstract
During the design phase of a system, evaluation of reliability is one of the most important requirements and questions. Designers try to reliability allocation for each components and subsystems to meet a reliability goal for the main system. Allocating proper reliability value to each component of a complex system is very important and sometimes complicated. Finding a practical method to solve this dilemma is the object of this paper. At this paper a new formula for cost function and reliability allocation is developed and this problem is solved using Genetic Algorithm. At this model influence of complexity, critically, state of art, operational profile and availability are concentrated. To demonstration of this method capability, reliability allocation of a complex system is described. It is shown presented method is not time consuming and is used for a complex system with different and practical constraints for each component.
